The Boston University Animal Science Center is part of the Office of Research, a group dedicated to aiding the research community in navigating the lifecycle of their work, from finding funding to creating proposals to helping inventions find their way to the public.

Job Description:

This position is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday.

Ensure quality animal care for all research animals.  Maintain proper sanitization of all animal equipment, animal housing and research areas and materials.  Follow Institutional, local, state, federal regulations, policies and procedures to assure proper animal care, health and welfare.

Perform basic animal husbandry for common laboratory species i.e. rat, mouse, fish, frogs, other for conventional, barrier, and aquatics facilities. Perform basic animal care operations procedures relevant to Animal Biosafety Levels:  ABSL-1, ABSL-2, and Chemical Containments Levels:  CCL-1, CCL-2, CCL-3. Animal receiving, census data collection, supply inventory, sorting, and distribution. Other duties as assigned.

Prerequisite: High School diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience.
